HOTEP! Happy Sunday to the family in the TEMPLE! Hope everyone's weekend has been great as we all expected it to be. Again, I'm great on my end and thankful as usual. I've experienced some things in the past few weeks that some people you just can't be friends with. Bottomline. Thought for today:"A man's god is HIMSELF AT HIS BEST and his devil is HIMSELF AT HIS WORST".- Anonymous. The point is a mature person SEES good in ALL FORMS of religions-so much to finds it difficult to follow the NARROW CREEDS of ANY particular one. One SEES the Absolute worshipped and recognized in ALL contentions that have ever ORIGINATED in the HUMAN MIND, from stone idol to the highest conception of Deity known to ANY of "the churches". The DIFFERENCE being solely in the SPIRITUAL GROWTH of DIFFERENT worshippers. As man GROWS, his CONCEPTION of Deity ADVANCES. One is doing the best that he/she can and is setting up a conception of God CORRESPONDING to HIS/HER PARTICULAR STAGE OF SPIRITUAL GROWTH. So Those so called "religion zealots" as I called them are the ones I avoid at all costs. There is NO NEED to be dogmatic or judgmental toward anybody who is of ANOTHER religion creed or cause he/she is living an unacceptable lifestyle. That have NOTHING to do with you. Period. Doesn't matter if they are family, friends or not. WE ALL COME INTO OUR OWN IN DUE TIME. Trust me on this... I'm not afraid to lose friends cause I GOT A REAL FRIEND ALREADY and IT IS THE FATHER WHO SENT ME IN HIS LIKENESS ALTHOUGH I AM NOT HE. Hotep Rodney, as always great conscious thought. Thank you, I plan to share. Please know I understand where you stand. I agree with most; however, my inner voice will not allow me to rest. Why I asked? To say nothing means I accept the lies I was told when I was a child being raised Catholic in religion class weekdays, confession on Saturday and church on Sunday from 5th grade – 11th. All of my experiences during this time were very traumatic which made me take an oath to use my training (education, religion) verbal or written to have an effect on what I saw and still see as a problem. Christianity has and continues to enslave the minds of people of African descent. Think about it. When we continue to follow a mindset that does not allow human rights for all at all times, we are contributors to our own problem. I’d like to feel guilty about what I write and my inner voice will not allow me to rest until I release in writing. I could not agree more with most of what you write but particularly your bottom line by Anonymous "Thought for today:"A man's god is HIMSELF AT HIS BEST and his devil is HIMSELF AT HIS WORST".- Anonymous” As a woman of African descent living and being educated in America in a Christian society I take this to mean, I have witness and experience god as his devil at his worst. My religious education taught me it was people carrying a Bible under their arms speaking kind words (lies) that raped a continent and enslaved the people mentally and physically. I’d rather eat ..it and die first before I’d allow it to continue by not exposing and saying nothing. I like to keep it real by not sweeping the negative side of situations under the rug to allow only the positive side to shine since I know both needs to be recognized to maintain balance in our universe.
