Learn from Your Mistakes
Today, I asked myself am I living the advice I freely give to others? When someone troubled comes to you for advice, it’s interesting how quick you can come up with reassuring words to help ease the person’s pain. I really had to check myself and make sure I am living what I share.
After some deep soul searching, I discovered one area of doubt which caused me some pain, ”mistakes”. I asked myself, do you relive your mistakes and have you really learned from them and moved on?” Honestly, some I have and some I haven’t. The ones I still relive are keeping me from moving forward freely.
You must Live in the present and accept the past is gone forever; the future is uncertain -- but the present is real, and our opportunities are in the next second. These opportunities must be visual and real to you. The catch is they can't seem real if your mind is buried in past failures. If you keep reliving old mistakes, old guilts, old tragedies, you will be spinning in a circle for the rest of your life.
To be a winner, you must fight your way above the many inevitable Traumatizations of your ego, escape damnation by the past, and look to the opportunities of the present.
Bottom line, everybody makes mistakes whether they admit to it or not. The most notable thing is the majority of us fail to learn from our mistakes. You must learn from your mistakes in order to prevent making the same mistake over and over again.
Also, don’t be so eager to call what you have done “a mistake”, sometimes we look back and think it was the right thing to do. Definitely don’t let other people put you down for making these "mistakes", they may have their own motives for trying to keep you oppressed.
You can’t have a do-over in life, but you can live your best life now. Let go of regrets. Be a guardian of your own life, say no to events or people that cause regrets.
