(Dark skinned black people)
On Monday I celebrated another year of my life! I am thankful to still be among the living but today while driving to work I was stung by a topic being discussed on the radio about the negative perceptions of dark skinned black people.
My first reaction was DAMN when will this SHIT go away!!!
I have had to deal with these stereo types all my life!!! I refuse to let anyone dictate who I am, how I should be or how I look because my skin is dark. As a matter of fact I’m damn glad I am dark, especially when I see some of my lighter friends now.
GOOD BLACK DON’T CRACK!! But it is sad to me we are still so small minded we are still making our children color conscious.
When will it end-mature adults? Then, when will we as blacks start embracing each other for our character and not the hue of our skin?
Unfortunately, we are our worst enemies. When will we wake up and embrace everyone, the dark, the light, the caramel, the pecan, the yellow, the chocolate, etc.? Are we our worse enemies?!??
