Country with Brutal History or Racism

SOUTH AFRICA. Transkei, the birth place of Nelson Mandela. On the south coast of Africa is a territory known as "the land of the Red People; the name comes from the color of the soil, from the reddish color of the people's skin which is dusted with red clay, and from the russet red of the blankets which they wear. Officially called the Transkei (land across the River Kei), set aside as a nature reserve, but once a land of fierce tribal wars, and superstition and fear, until under the watchful eye of the Bhunga (native government), the warriors have been transformed into farmers and cattle breeders without changing the social fabric of the two main tribes, the Xhosas and the Pondos.
They say South Africa has a brutal history of racism and that may or may not have been Mr. Mandela's truth. But in all fairness, I think each of us should ask and answer that same question to ourselves. Share your truth.
