Common SenseCommon sense in safety, security and survival?Does it pass the common sense test? In a common place environment, at an inappropriate hour, do we perceive beauty? Do we stop to appreciate it? Do we recognize talent in an unexpected context? Maintaining "the cause of America is in a great measure the cause of all mankind,". "Society in every state is a blessing, but Government, even in its best state, is a necessary evil; in its worst state, an intolerable one." - Thomas Paine Does education make you smarter? Then what does education do? What has it done? What has been your experience? Do you use common sense and logic? What are we doing so different than they did yesterday? What has happened to the safety and security we enjoyed yesterday? Whatever happened to Common Sense and logic from years ago? The common sense and logic our parents used when they had nothing else? They weren't educated and did not have access to all the technology we have today. People had respect that we do not enjoy today. What has "further complicated" matters? What did common sense give way to? Did it give way to religion, civil rights, money, power, education, technology, politics, justice or corruption?
All national institutions of churches, whether Jewish, Christian or Turkish, appear to me no other than human inventions, set up to terrify and enslave mankind, and monopolize power and profit. - Thomas Paine Is common sense a powerful argument for independence? I do my best to write and reason in a style and plain language that common people understand and agree upon. That's where I am. I structure my articles like a sermon and often rely on human rights, near and far to make my case to the people, so they may make better decisions. Common sense is just not common any more, never has been, but common sense adds up to Dollar and Cents. My Common Sense causes me to agree to disagree and being able to enjoy the freedom of doing so. That is mutual respect. When used, my common sense challenges authority based on simple facts, plain arguments, and vision. All we want is to live and work in the most effective and efficient manner possible. What's wrong with that? I have no other preliminaries to settle with my readers. What would happen "if" everything we did had to pass the common sense test? How would our lives be? Our Future? How many other things are we missing? Here is how the word "if" sounds?
