Humility

To the high and lofty: Pride elevates us above others, and often above God himself.

I live in that high and holy place with those whose spirits are contrite and humble. I refresh the humble and give new courage to those with repentant hearts. Isaiah 57:15

Do not think or speak of the sins of others. One's own are much more profitable! If one can not find fault on one's own side, then cry for mercy: for this is a most dangerous delusion.

Direct your ego away from yourself and to the larger goal of leading people to greatness. Greatness comes from humility and being at times, self-effacing.

May God's grace give us the necessary humility to recognize our own worth, as we were created. People have great worth and value.

Humility, not humiliation.

Not having all the answers. Admitting this and seeking others’ input requires some humility.

How do you treat those who are absolutely of no use to you?

Is the zeal to impose your point of view overtaking discretion?

Seek others’ input on how you are showing up in your leadership role. Ask: “How am I doing?” It takes humility to ask such a question. And even more humility to consider the answer.

Encourage the practice of humility in your presence through your own example. Share credit for successes with others.
