You ask me why I write out. reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.Think about shit!
It is bad to be a Christian, yet not stand for Christian values. Here are some that ought to cause you to do what you are supposed to. Not what Art said, but what you know in your own heart.
reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine And if we aren't suffering, what are we doing? Why be quiet?
Hireling: One who works solely for compensation, especially a person willing to perform for a fee tasks considered menial or offensive.
Jesus said in John 10:12-13, "But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep. The hireling fleeth, because he is a hireling, and careth not for the sheep."
A hireling watches the sheep (believers) for money. In other words, the hireling is in the ministry for money and careth not for the sheep.
Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
Is there not an appointed time to man upon earth? [are not] his days also like the days of an hireling?
As a servant earnestly desireth the shadow, and as a hireling looketh for [the reward of] his work… I will not refrain my mouth; I will speak in the anguish of my spirit; I will complain in the bitterness of my soul.
Within three years, as the years of an hireling, and the glory of Moab shall be contemned, with all that great multitude; and the remnant [shall be] very small [and] feeble.
Within a year, according to the years of an hireling, and all the glory of Kedar shall fail:
And I will come near to you to judgment; and I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers, the adulterers and false swearers, and against those that oppress the hireling in [his] wages, the widow, and the fatherless, and that turn aside the stranger…
